erchangeable needles are truly a new innovation in knitting. The concept was perfected by the Denise Co in the 1970s, and if you're curious about how they came about, here's a great article about it. Since then, the materials and brands available have increased exponentially.


This chart gives you a side-by-side look at the most important elements of the best-known interchangeable knitting needles systems. While this may not offer enough detail for you to decide which kit is right for you, it will at least help you narrow it down to the systems you'd like to know more about.




† These brands offer fine gauge interchangeables that are not compatible with their wider range.

*Kollage have offered other tip lengths in the past, and may again, but right now only 4" are available.
