Aran Placket & Red Rompers

Due in 3 days. 2 projects in progress. This seems totally fine.

Like the Autumn Rose, this is a mini version of a sweater I really enjoyed making for myself way back when. The original pattern is adult sized, and calls for Tanis Fiber Arts Aran Weight. So to create a baby version, I used fingering weight and US 2 needles and the stitch numbers for the fourth size.

Crafty Details
Gauge: 5 sts/inch
Yarn: Rowan 4-Ply Soft
Needles: US Size 2
Pattern: I Heart Aran by Tanis Lavallee

I love the texture of the knitted fabric, and the heart-shaped cables are the cutest. It’s looking like 12-18 months size, maybe a bit on the boxy side, but otherwise, for such a half-baked plan, this worked out super well.

The original calls for a shawl collar/placket thingy that’s really warm and cozy. But I didn’t cast on enough stitches and it didn’t sit right, so I finished the raw edge with a line of single crochet, blocked it, and called it. I love it. I should make myself another one.

I also put the finishing touches on a second pair of rompers from Shwin & Shwin’s awesome pattern. These are a gift to friends who are due tomorrow.

Snap tape! I bought 5 meters of this stuff on sale last month. Snaps on everything!
